2Residential Fee for students who live on-campus - contact WinthropLIFE for more information.

COA listed above is based on a two-semester academic year (fall and spring). Students attending summer session will have a summer COA calculated based on their specific enrollment.

Tuition is estimated based on the weighted average costs for full-time students. Students attending less than full-time will be estimated based on a cost per credit hour plus weighted average of fees. Actual fees can be found online with Student Account Services.

Fees are calculated using a weighted average for all full-time students. Students attending less than full-time will have their fees calculated based on that enrollment status. Students can find their estimated fees when viewing their aid offers in Wingspan.

Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment expenses are estimated assuming $22 per credit hour. A student’s actual costs will vary based on course requirements. Students attending full-time are estimated $1200 per year; three-quarter time $900 per year; half-time $600 per year; less than half-time $300 per year. Incoming first- year students will be required to have a computer that meets Winthrop University's requirements and therefore their COA includes $1,364 estimated cost. More information about computer requirements can be found here. Estimates can also include cost of a license, certification, or first professional credential when it is required to receive degree.

Housing expenses estimated for on-campus students based on the weighted average or median amount of residence charges, whichever is greater. Actual charges can be found here. For off-campus students, estimated based on national averages provided by the College Board Guidance for Living Expenses. For students living at home, estimated as a percentage of an on-campus student.

Food expenses estimated to provide an equivalent of three meals a day. Estimate is based on the charge for Winthrop's Unlimited Access plan.

Transportation expenses estimated based on national averages provided by the College Board Guidance for Living Expenses and other state colleges. For commuters, the transportation figure estimates the cost of driving to campus daily. For on-campus residents, the figure allows for several trips home per year. These items are not charged directly to the student account and actual student expenses will vary.

Personal expenses estimated based on national averages provided by the College Board Guidance for Living Expenses and other state colleges. These items are not charged directly to the student account and actual student expenses will vary. Students attending less than half-time will have a $0 amount in their COA for this expense per federal regulations.

Loan Fees are estimated based on a weighted average of federal loan borrowers in prior academic year. Not applicable for students who do not borrow student loans.

Summer COA is created based on each student’s individual summer enrollment at Winthrop. Books, Transportation, and Miscellaneous Expenses will be provided as one-month, two-month or three-month based on student’s enrollment and amounts are based on the amounts used during fall and spring.

Direct costs for tuition, fees, housing, food, payment plans and further billing information can be found at Student Account Services.
