While resident students are required to enroll in a meal plan, commuters, graduate students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to participate.

Eagle Eatery in Thomson meal swipe Meal combinations offered as meal swipes in Markley's, Chick-fil-A, Einstein. Declining balance tied to a meal plan purchased. Also includes CY Flex Plan. Home Style Serves a home-cooked hot meal of entree, starch, two vegetables, and a vegan/vegetarian entree
Garnet Deli Daily sandwich specials, build your own sandwich or wrap, variety of breads.
Salad Bar A variety of rotating special salads and fresh fruits. Build-your-own salad with a variety of greens

How can I purchase a meal plan?:

Resident Students

If you are a Resident student, you have already selected a meal plan when you applied for housing.

If you would like to purchase Eagle Bucks, you may do so using a credit or debit card at the Winthrop Marketplace.

Commuter Students (ONLY):

  • Meal plans may be purchased with a credit card. Please go to the Winthrop Marketplace.
  • If you want to purchase Eagle Bucks (credit card only), please go to the Winthrop Marketplace.
  • All purchases are final.

Faculty/Staff Meal Plans:

  • If you want to purchase Eagle Bucks using a credit card, please go the Winthrop Marketplace.
  • If you want to purchase a value priced Faculty/Staff meal plan using your credit card, please securely log into Winthrop Marketplace through the link provided.

Dining Services Commuter Student/Marketplace Refund Policy

All Eagle Bucks purchases are non-refundable.

Faculty/Staff Meal Plan purchases are non-refundable.

All Marketplace student meal plan purchases are considered non-refundable, with the following exceptions:

  • Students who withdraw from Winthrop University before the last day of add/drop will be eligible for a 100% refund of the unused amounts of their plan.
  • Students who withdraw from Winthrop University after the last day of add/drop and before the end of the 2nd  week of classes will be eligible for a 75% refund of the unused amounts of their meal plan and, less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Students who withdraw from Winthrop University after the last day of the 2nd week of classes and before the end of the 3rd week of classes will be eligible for a 50% refund of the unused amounts of their meal plan, less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Students who withdraw from Winthrop University after the 3rd week of classes are not eligible for any refunds.

Students who withdraw due to active duty orders will have 100% of any unused portion of the meal plan and/or cafe cash regardless of date.

 Students who are eligible for a refund may contact marketplace@winthrop.edu to request their refund. All refunds will be credit back to the credit card used for the initial purchase.
