At Winthrop, we are a close-knit campus community and we take pride in really getting to know you. So, it's only fitting that you get to know us. You can attend a virtual event or info session, come for an on-campus tour, take our virtual tour, chat with a counselor or current student, and check out our social media (@winthropadmissions and @winthropu)...or all of the above!

The Winthrop Bridge program is an agreement between York Technical College and Winthrop University to provide a seamless transfer to Winthrop to earn your bachelor’s degree, after completing the first two years of your associate degree at York Tech and attaining at least a 2.0 GPA.
After gaining admission to York Technical College, students must apply and be selected for the Winthrop Bridge Program to participate.
Decisions for non-freshman applicants (transfer, second undergraduate, non-degree, dual enrollment, or readmit) will be made on a rolling basis after a complete review of your application (may take up to three weeks from the time all required materials have been received).
Check your Winthrop Admissions Portal to view the status of your application and if any required materials are still needed. Decisions will be mailed to your home address and can also be viewed in the portal.
Transfer Orientation is a required experience that is fully virtual in real time for sessions B and D, and in-person for sessions C and E. When you register, you'll select which session you plan to attend.
You will receive a couple e-mails in the days leading up to your session that will provide you with information to prepare for your orientation session. Those attending session N, the evening before orientation you will receive an e-mail that will include the link to join virtually along with other details. All students must adhere to webcam and mic requirements, as well as our Virtual Event Attendance Guide.
If you prefer to attend orientation in person, you will want to register for session C or E, scheduled for June 23 or August 6. During in person orientation, you will register for your classes and have a class schedule when you leave campus. Students enrolling for spring 2026, you can attend an in-person session A, on January 9, 2026.
