Community Proctoring Services

 

The OA Test Center offers a wide variety of testing for the local community. You may click on the options below for more information on how we can assist you in meeting your testing needs.

 

Distance Learning Proctoring

Test Center staff proctors exams for certain certifications and licensing, as well as for courses taken at other colleges, universities, and entities. We offer distance learning examinations Monday - Thursday between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Friday Testing Not Available Until Further Notice.

All exams are by appointment only. Candidates should make appointment at least 3 business days in advance to allow the candidate and home institution sufficient time to supply our office with necessary information, paperwork, and materials. The allowed test time must fit within our normal hours of operation.

Fees

Proctoring fees are $40.00 per test (up to 3 hours). No test administered without payment and it must reach our office prior to your appointment. A semester pass may be purchased for $100.00. This pass allows unlimited test proctoring during one semester only. Payment is by credit card only. You may pay online through the Winthrop University Marketplace. All test fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any return postage and mailing supplies are the responsibility of the candidate or home institution. Winthrop University is not responsible for any mailing fees to return tests.


Registration

Registration is required and space is limited. To begin the registration process, instruct your home institution to contact the Test Center Operations Manager with any necessary information and forms. Next, enter your appointment request information via the registration form. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Finally, submit your online payment at least 24 hours prior to your appointment in order to reserve your seat.


On Test Day

A. The Test Center is located in room G10 Bancroft Annex. Because temperatures vary in the testing rooms, you may want to dress in layers.

B. In support of Winthrop University's commitment to mitigating the spread of COVID-19, it is required that all campus visitors wear a a face mask while inside buildings, regardless of vaccination status. 

C. To ensure proper social distancing, please do not check in more than 15 minutes early for your scheduled appointment time. Upon arrival, we will verify your identity and go over testing instructions. Due to limited seating, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment time, you may be asked to reschedule and forfeit any fees.

D. Bring current (non-expired) identification. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver's license, passport, or student ID.

E. Visitor parking on campus is free of charge; however, visitors to Winthrop University that desire to park on university property must obtain a visitor parking permit for a limited time from the Winthrop University Police Department. Candidates Requesting Accommodations

A. Candidates requesting accommodations should contact the Test Center Operations Manager as soon as possible to discuss their request prior to scheduling any test.

B. Special technology is available for those candidates with documented disabilities requiring accommodations.

C. To ensure we can meet the accommodations requested before test is scheduled, accommodations must be approved and submitted by the originating university or institution to our office for review.
