Make Your Tuition Affordable with Aid

There are many types of financial aid that students can qualify for to help with paying for college. The team at Winthrop's Office of Financial Aid is here to help you through the process to learn what options might be a fit for you. Student Financial Services can also help students and families understand payment plans, refunds, billing statements, and more.

The best way to get started with financial aid is to begin the FAFSA application process.

Complete Your FAFSA Application

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form completed by current and prospective college students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid, including need-based and non-need-based aid.

All students must complete the entire FAFSA process after October 1 of each year in order to receive consideration for federal and/or state aid for the upcoming academic year. Our FAFSA page will give you all the information you need for a successful application, including deadlines, definitions of terms used on the form, what to expect, and more.

Determine Your Eligibility for Types of Aid

We're committed to connecting each student to the financial aid options that are the best fit. Types of aid include need-based, non-need-based, federal and other programs, and scholarships.

Federal Pell Grant

The Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students earning their first bachelor's degree who meet the federal government's eligibility formula, which is determined by the FAFSA, and does not need to be repaid.
