Academic Scholarships
Winthrop offers multiple academic scholarships for new and returning students. New students must complete an admissions application and be accepted. Returning students can apply for Winthrop scholarships based on their academic achievement and/or participation in extracurricular activities at Winthrop through a general scholarship application.

The Close Scholars Program is driven by the idea that service is vital to the complete education of college students because future leaders have a civic responsibility. This scholarship requires a completed application and awards in May of each year.

State Scholarships are available to South Carolina residents who meet the requirements after high school graduation. Students may continue to receive scholarship funds as long as the meet the annual review requirements.
