The Winthrop Alumni Association established the Student Alumni Council (SAC) in 1984 to stimulate the interest and
participation of students in the progress of the university and to preserve and further
the feeling of loyalty and fellowship between the university, students, community
and alumni.
From freshmen move-in day through graduation, SAC members serve as the resident "tradition keepers" who promote the spirit, history and tradition of Winthrop and provide opportunities for students to develop into active, engaged citizens and future alumni.
The Executive Committee, composed of Senior SACers, provides strategic direction and guidance to the organization. These informed and engaged campus leaders serve as ambassadors and committee chairs on behalf of the organization and university.
