Thanks to all alumni, friends and families for participating in Virtual Homecoming Week 2020, Nov. 9-14! We enjoyed a number of events from Big Stuff Hide and Seek, Facebook Live events, coffee chats, "Spirit Check" challenges, fitness and cooking sessions, social media takeovers, online socials, and virtual tours and exhibits.

Head over to Facebook to view video highlights of the virtual events and check out Instagram takeovers from Mat Fretschel ’03, Byron Putman ’94 and Zainab Ghadiyali ’09.

Class Reunions

Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 in 2020, Winthrop deferred all reunion gatherings planned for November 2020 to spring of 2021 in hopes of being able to gather in person to celebrate. As much as we were hoping to celebrate in person, safely gathering on campus this spring will not be possible due to continued social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 protocols campus has in place.

The Alumni Association does not want to miss the opportunity to celebrate alumni whose class year end in ’0 or ’5. Virtual class reunions will be hosted this spring with a fun game of Winthrop Trivia specific to your class year. Alumni can reminisce with fellow classmates about your fondest Winthrop memories while enjoying some friendly trivia competition. For more information about your virtual class reunion and to register please visit the registration page or contact Brittany Neely ’14, alumni engagement coordinator, at

Check back for more information about class reunion activities and events for fall 2021. Alumni with class years ending in ’1 or ’6 will soon hear more from the Alumni Association about fall class reunion activities. Stay connected with your class group on Winthrop Connect.

Student Events

Because Homecoming and Reunion Weekend is a tradition the Winthrop community looks forward to each year, the Division of Student Affairs is considering hosting a spirit week in the spring 2021 depending on guidance at that time from the CDC and DHEC; however, activities have not been confirmed.

Please check back for the newest information and follow us on social media for the latest udpates. For questions or assistance about Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, please contact the Winthrop University Alumni Association at 800/578-6545 or email
