COVID-19 Updates

While Office of Accessibility (OA) staff are working remotely, staff can initiate conversations via email and then explore options such as Skype, telephone, or other online options for further discussions. OA will not be offering walk-in of in-person appointments.


For Fall 2020, OA will not be able to support in person appointments or walk-ins due to COVID-19. All appointments will be either via phone or virtually. OA staff can be reached via email at accessibility@winthrop.edu and at OA_Team@winthrop.edu to schedule an appointment. OA staff will also work remotely and with limited in office hours (Phase II) until further notice. Please visit the Test Center for information on its availability through Fall 2020.


For efficiency or service, OA has implemented a new case management system called Accessible Information management (AIM) through which students can initiate virtual appointments, upload documentation, access letters of accommodation, and manage accommodations, including Test Center requests. Students can utilize the Student AIM Portal. Faculty can access the Faculty AIM Portal. OA will continue to communicate to faculty how they can use this software to manage test requests and view student accommodations. Students who are not registered with OA may visit the Accommodations and Services page on the OA website to explore how to receive services.
