These services include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting victims throughout the investigation and prosecution of the offender

  • Contacting professors on the victim's behalf

  • Informing victims of their rights

  • Offering immediate crisis intervention and follow-up counseling

  • Providing referral contact information

The Victim Advocate, located in the Good Building at 526 Myrtle Drive, provides services to any currently enrolled Winthrop University student, whether the crime occurred on or off campus and whether or not the victim chooses to file an official police report. All communication with administrative offices is handled with utmost discretion.

The Victim Advocate can be contacted at 803/323-2548.

You may also refer to the Office of Victims Assistance Web site.  The office provides direct services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking as well as campus-wide educational programming to prevent these crimes from occurring.
