Campus Police provides comprehensive services to assist Winthrop University students
who have been the victims of crimes in all of their needs through referral and contact
with campus and community resources.
These services include but are not limited to:
Assisting victims throughout the investigation and prosecution of the offender
Contacting professors on the victim's behalf
Informing victims of their rights
Offering immediate crisis intervention and follow-up counseling
Providing referral contact information
Serving as a liaison for the student within the campus community
The Victim Advocate, located in the Good Building at 526 Myrtle Drive, provides services to any currently enrolled Winthrop University student, whether the crime occurred on or off campus and whether or not the victim chooses to file an official police report. All communication with administrative offices is handled with utmost discretion.

You may also refer to the Office of Victims Assistance Web site. The office provides direct services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking as well as campus-wide educational programming to prevent these crimes from occurring.
