What to Bring to Orientation

Eagles Landing Sessions
(in-person)

As a reminder, Eagles Landing is required for Freshman and an encouraged experience for Transfer students. Attendees should plan to bring:

  • Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes
  • Umbrella or rain jacket, just in case
  • Pens/pencil and something to write on
  • Money for optional activities
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle

Fall Orientation
(Freshman Sessions 7 and 8 and Transfer Sessions F and G in mid-August)

Please note that residential students attending Fall Orientation will move in early - see your Winthrop email for more details. Commuter students will return to their off-campus residences at the end of the day. Attendees should plan to bring:

  • Items to move into residence hall room (if living on campus)
  • Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes
  • Alarm Clock (Freshmen are required to be on time to sessions on Day 2, regardless of living on campus or commuting.)
  • Pens and pencils
  • Sunscreen
  • Money for optional activities
  • Water bottle
  • Umbrella or rain jacket, just in case

Spring Orientation
(November and January)

Spring Orientation is required for all new undergraduate students whose first semester at Winthrop will be the Spring semester. Attendees should plan to bring:

  • Unofficial copy of transcripts from previous institution
  • Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes
  • Pens and pencils
  • Water bottle
  • Umbrella or rain jacket, just in case
  • Sunscreen
  • Jacket/coat
  • Money for optional activities
