The Winthrop University student chapter of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) sent eight students to the NC State SHRM Conference.  The conference provides up to date knowledge on the field of Human Resources (HR).  It exposes students to current HR trends and the important topics that HR professionals are discussing.  The conference also provides some professional development opportunities in the area of leadership skills. 

WUSHRM has participated in the conference annually for the last 8 years.  The total conference attendance reaches 600 each year with most HR professionals from the state of North Carolina and surrounding SC counties. WUSHRM typically has the largest group of students in attendance each year.  

In order to attend the conference, the students participated in several fundraisers and received a large portion of their funding from Winthrop Student Allocations.
