Financial Technology

The Bachelor of Science in Financial Technology (B.S. Fintech) blends coursework in traditional finance, computer science, and data analytics to address the growing use of technology in the financial services industry. The program provides in-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and data-driven financial modeling and analytics. It is designed for students who want to develop technological expertise and potentially design new applications and processes that can improve the financial sector.

Fintech professionals are in high demand in major financial institutions (e.g., banks, hedge funds, brokerage firms), in the burgeoning fintech startup community, and in other industries as well, such as health care and insurance. Winthrop is well-positioned geographically to offer this degree. Our proximity to Charlotte, NC, the 2nd largest financial center in the country and one of the top 10 best fintech ecosystems in the world, provides graduates with easy access to an ever-expanding job market in which corporations compete for the talent needed to grow and thrive.

Beyond Graduation

Pierre Wooten
Business Administration, Class of 2002
