Employee Benefits - FMLA

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Employed with the Winthrop University for at least 12 months.

  • Have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period preceding request for FMLA leave.

Employee Procedure for Own Illness or to Care for a Family Member:

  • Request FMLA by contacting the Human Resources office at (803) 323 -2273 or HRhelp@winthrop.edu.

  • The required FMLA documents will be sent to you within 5 days of your request. You will have 15 days to return the certification of Health Care Provider for approval.

  • Completed FMLA documents can be emailed to HRhelp@winthrop.edu or delivered to the Human Resources office in 303 Tillman Hall.
