Winthrop University: Academic Affairs

Division of Academic Affairs

Boyd, DebraWinthrop is committed to delivering educational experiences that prepare students to become leaders in their professions and in their communities.

In recent years, we have implemented major curriculum changes in our undergraduate programs that focus on meeting students where they are academically and developmentally when they arrive on campus, engaging them in developing the capacities and skills they need to take full advantage of our national caliber academic programs, and providing culminating experiences that support the transition from Winthrop to work or further study.  At Winthrop, student learning and development are the center of university life.

In addition to our top-notch undergraduate programs, our graduate and online graduate programs offer advanced education for professional development and personal enhancement.  The scope and quality of programs offered through the Graduate School enrich the academic life of the university and benefit the region and the state.  Master's and specialist degree programs stand upon, strengthen, and are reinforced by high quality undergraduate programs.

The academic life of Winthrop University is rich and vibrant because of the ongoing commitment, dedication, and hard work of faculty and staff in the division of Academic Affairs to provide engaging, challenging, and rewarding academic experiences to students at all levels.  Please look closely at our programs and our people to see and understand the extent to which we live out our promise to prepare students to be leaders in their professions and in their communities; to see how you or someone you know might benefit from the Winthrop Experience.
