    • Shadowing dental hygienists
    • Take TEAS or HESI if required
    • Apply to dental hygiene program (many begin junior year)

    • Oral Anatomy, Histology, Embryology
    • Preventive Dentistry
    • Dental Materials
    • Preclinical Dental Hygiene
    • Pathology/Pharmacology

    Courses:

    • Clinical Dental Hygiene I & II
    • Community Dental Health
    • Pain Control (local anesthesia)
    • Periodontology
    • Dental Ethics and Law

    Activities:

    • Capstone or research project (if applicable)
    • Prepare for National Board Dental Hygiene Exam (NBDHE) and state licensing
