Career Closet
About the Career Closet
The CDI helps students dress for success by providing access to professional attire
for interviews, career fairs, networking events, and internships. Students can choose
from our professional wardrobe items including suits, blazers, collared shirts, blouses,
slacks, dresses, shoes, and ties.
- The Career Closet is located in 312 Bancroft Hall and is available for students during
our drop-in hours (Spring 2026: Wednesdays 1:30-3 p.m. and Thursdays 11 a.m.-12:30
p.m.) and by student appointment in Handshake. Students are limited to 5 items max and no more than two of a certain item.
- Students: check out our tips (with examples) for Business Professional and Business Casual attire; learn about
other resources on campus for career attire.

Clothing Donations
All clothing must be in good condition and be free of rips, holes, tears, and stains.
- We strongly prefer donations of attire less than 10 years old; clothing in good condition
but outdated styling will not support students in today’s interview process.
- We request professional cleaning prior to donation; items on hangers are ideal (but
not required).
- If you bring items in bags or boxes, please ensure they are not wrinkled and crumpled.
If you or your organization is interested in supporting the Career Closet or partnering
with us on a clothing drive, please contact our team at careerdev@winthrop.edu or 803/323-2141.
