Typical Class Assignments

Event attendance and completion of activities will be tracked by the CDI.

Consider adding our Careers Fairs and events to your course syllabi or offering extra credit for your students to attend. These are excellent opportunities for students to participate in professional development, while networking with employers and exploring internship and employment opportunities! At several of our events, students can also receive free professional headshots for their LinkedIn profiles.

    1. Handshake Resume Reviews

Students will upload their resumes to Handshake for written feedback from the CDI staff. Feedback will be shared with the course instructor. Ideal for large class sizes.

    2. Resume/Cover Letter Appointments

Students will schedule a virtual or in-person appointment with the CDI. Appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes. During this time, students will receive feedback on their resume and/or cover letter and learn how to optimize their document(s) for applicant tracking systems (ATS). Ideal for small class sizes.

    3. Resume Review Days

Students will attend an upcoming Resume Review Event. These events are excellent opportunities for students to network with employers and receive expert feedback on their resumes in preparation for our career fairs.

    1. Mini Mock Interview Events

Students will attend an upcoming Mock Interview Event. These events are an excellent opportunity for students to practice their interview skills with a career coach or a recruiter. If you would like your class to participate, please let us know in advance so that we can accommodate your students and track participation. We will verify which of your students attend.

    2. Big Interview

Course instructors will create a Big Interview assignment for their students to complete (training documents and video below). Big Interview is an AI-powered interview training platform that features hundreds of video lessons on topics including elevator pitches, behavioral interview questions, salary negotiation, and more! It also features a library of 1,000+ interview questions that students can practice with on their own or for a class assignment and receive instant AI feedback on their performance. Faculty can also request for students to receive feedback from the CDI staff.
