Meet the Firms is a networking event for accounting, finance, economics, and computer information students and recent graduates. This is a time for students to learn about different career paths and internship opportunities with various organizations. Participants include CPA firms, wealth management firms, banks, government agencies, and relevant corporate departments (e.g., internal audit, accounting, tax, and finance).
Meet the Firms is hosted by the College of Business & Technology’s Beta Alpha Psi, an international honors society for financial information students, and supported by the Center for Career Development & Internships.
Registration via Handshake by August 7th to guarantee you will have a nametage for the event. Current students, use your Winthrop credentials to log into Handshake. Alumni, follow these instructions to access Handshake. Contact careerdev@winthrop.edu if you encounter any Handshake issues.
Registration is not required, but it will allow you to see a list of participating organizations. Use the list of participating organizations and the following guides to help you prepare for Meet the Firms.
Some organizations will request a resume, so please bring at least five copies of your resume. Consider bringing more depending on how many booths you plan on visiting. Need help with your resume? You can schedule an appointment with Winthrop's Center for Career Development & Internships (CDI) to get one-on-one help with your resume.
The dress code is business professional or business casual. Not sure if you own anything that fits the dress code? CDI has a Career Closet that you can use to create an appropriate outfit. Check the Career Closet website for drop-in hours or to schedule an appointment.

Location and Time
Meet the Firms will be held in McBryde Hall on Winthrop University's campus. Firm
representatives may begin setting up their booths at 10:00 a.m., and refreshments
will be available during setup. Students will begin arriving at 10:30 am. Following

may select their booth location on a first-come, first-served basis. Please bring
firm signage for your booth. If you wish to bring firm swag, plan for 150 students.
Parking
On the Winthrop parking map, McBryde Hall is building 15. Please park in lot G (Margaret Nance) or the green visitor parking spaces between buildings 14 and 15. You can use lot E (Johnson) if these lots fill up. Parking passes are not needed for these designated areas.
Visitor spaces can be used if you will be on campus after 2 pm or the Johnson parking lot is full. However, you must submit a visitor parking permit request. Visitor spaces are marked green in person and on the map.
