Last semester, the department launched the first new course of the new Spanish for Law and the Helping Professions minor. Students in SPAN 205 took their Spanish skills beyond flashcards and learned how to give Miranda Rights, issue a sobriety test, and thoughtfully interact with victims of a crime. While the minor is specifically designed for students pursuing degrees in sociology, criminology, law, social work, and other professions, all students are welcome to register for the course. For more information, please read a recent press release issued by the university.
This semester, we are fortunate to have our Language Learning Center offer longer hours and more resources to our language students! To see what the lab has to offer, visit the Language Learning Center page.

Dr. Jepson's SPAN 201 students were asked to design a tri-fold brochure to highlight attractions and tourism information about a Spanish-speaking country. All of the students did amazing work, but these are a few of our favorites!
