Students - March 30, 2021

Dear Students,

Thanks to the good work of our student Health Services team, we have confirmed with the Rock Hill Community Vaccination Center, at 2295 Dave Lyle Blvd, Suite 5, Rock Hill, SC 29730, that Winthrop students who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can do so at the center’s Galleria Mall location on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. The center will have the Pfizer vaccine available for up to 1,000 students on that day. The second dose will be administered Tuesday, April 27, 2021, which is Study Day. The Pfizer vaccine is approved for individuals ages 16 and over.

In order to plan appropriately, we must hear from you in response to the Student COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Survey by 8am, Wednesday, March 31. Since Winthrop will likely require proof of being vaccinated or of a negative COVID-19 test for fall semester enrollment, now would be a great time to be vaccinated.

Student COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Survey

If you respond that you are interested in receiving the two-dose Pfizer vaccine at the Galleria Mall location, you are consenting to your demographic information being shared with the Rock Hill vaccine clinic administrator to enroll you in the CDC system, VAMS. You will receive a follow up message from Health Services by Thursday with a Sign-up Genius link to register for an available time on April 7, 2021. You will schedule your second vaccine on site after receiving your first dose on Wednesday.

As stated in the survey, the MyRide public bus system includes routes connecting Winthrop and the Galleria Mall. Students who do not have their own transportation can check the MyRide mobile app to see the schedule for Route 4 Dave Lyle/Galleria.

Please complete the interest survey or schedule an appointment on your own with a local pharmacy, community clinic, etc., as soon as possible to do your part to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Go get vaccinated, Eagles!

Sincerely,

George
