Dear Colleagues,
As we move into the new academic year, I would like to share with you a few changes
in how the university's senior leadership will be organized.
First, all vice presidents will now report directly to me. I think it's important
that I have a direct line of reporting and accountability with all the vice presidents
as we work to achieve the goals laid out in the Winthrop Plan. Provost Debra Boyd
and I agree that now was the right time to reorganize during this, her last year as
provost.
Second, I have decided to name as vice presidents our athletic director, Dr. Ken Halpin,
and the chief-of-staff and secretary to the Board of Trustees, Dr. Kimberly Faust.
Ken's new title will be Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and Athletics
Director. Kimberly will now be Vice President and Chief-of-Staff.
Recognizing them as vice presidents is an acknowledgement of the leadership they provide
on campus and the importance I place on their roles as part of my leadership team.
I should note that these changes in reporting lines and titles do not impact their
duties and do not result in any fiscal impact to Winthrop.
