Faculty and Staff - February 24, 2021

Dear Colleagues:

I am asking for your help on an initiative that is very important to Winthrop’s future.

Winthrop University once again is participating in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Within the next few days, our freshmen and seniors will be invited to participate in the online survey.

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) gauges the quality of students’ educational experience and level of their engagement in campus life. Because of the quality of data we receive, three of the metrics in the Winthrop Plan are based on NSSE results.

I am sure you are as interested as I am to learn how our students describe their experience here at Winthrop; therefore, we would like to hear from as many of them as possible. You can help in this effort.

Please encourage students to complete the NSSE. Simply mentioning the NSSE and asking students to participate will convey the university’s commitment to enhancing their living and learning experience at Winthrop.

I do ask that you follow the guidelines of Indiana University’s Institutional Review Board and not contact an individual student directly via email – a group email or verbal request to your class, team, organization, residence building, advisees, student workers, etc., is permitted.

I know that I can count on your support and thank you for all that you do on behalf of Winthrop.

Sincerely,

George
