Sample 4 Year Plan

    Courses:

    • Intro to Communication Disorders or Public Health
    • General Biology I
    • College Algebra or Pre-Calculus
    • English Composition
    • Introduction to Psychology
    • General Education (Humanities, Social Science)

    Activities:

    • Join NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association)
    • Volunteer with special education programs or clinics
    • Shadow an audiologist in a private or hospital setting

    Courses:

    • Anatomy & Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism
    • Physics of Sound or Intro to Audiology
    • General Biology II or Chemistry
    • Developmental Psychology
    • Statistics
    • American Sign Language (optional but helpful)

    Activities:

    • Assist in a faculty lab or audiology research project
    • Volunteer at hearing screenings or speech/hearing clinics
    • Explore AuD programs and note their admission requirements

    Courses:

    • Submit AuD applications in fall
    • Attend interviews or virtual open houses
    • Graduate with a strong GPA and relevant experience
    • Prepare for transition to AuD program
