Immunization Requirements           

 Patient Portal

ALL students attending class on-campus must satisfy all immunization requirements by the first day of classes or a non-refundable $100.00 Non-Compliance Fee will be applied to your student account. This fee is avoidable.

 

To complete the Winthrop University Immunization requirements, you will need to create a Patient Portal account. You must complete the required forms, enter your immunization dates, and upload your immunization documentation.


The attached Immunization Information sheet, gives detailed directions and information on the CDC requirements and recommendations for vaccines.

 

  Paper forms will NOT be accepted, all documents must be uploaded into the Patient Portal.   

  • Winthrop University requires all students born on or after January 1, 1957 to provide proof of immunity to:
    • Measles (Rubeola), German Measles (Rubella), and Mumps (Covered by MMR vaccine).
    • Two valid doses of MMR (or the equivalent) or blood levels showing immunity are required.  
  • All students must have a Tetanus vaccination within the last ten years.
  • The Meningococcal vaccine requirement can be completed by uploading documentation of the vaccine or by reading and signing the Meningitis waiver. The CDC recommends a booster be given if meningitis vaccine was received before age 16.
  • All students must complete the Tuberculosis Screening.
  • Age, medical and religious exemptions are allowed by law.
  • Students attending a class that meets for 2 weeks or less are exempt from the immunization requirements.
  • All required immunizations are available at Health Services for a nominal fee.
