In “retirement” she is continuing to serve as an adjunct professor at Winthrop, tutors mathematics online to high school students throughout the state, and volunteers in our local schools.  She is actively involved with the King’s Mountain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and in her church, where she leads study groups, is a certified Lay Speaker and Chair of Worship.

Mrs. Pursley met her husband in Winthrop’s Dacus library when they were undergraduates.  They have two sons and two grandchildren.
