Denise Kendrick joined the Winthrop University faculty in 2025 as an instructor in the Department of Mathematics. A proud Winthrop alumna (M.A. '01), Mrs. Kendrick brings over three decades of diverse educational experience to the classroom.

Her career began in the California elementary school system before she spent four years teaching internationally in Japan. Upon returning to the United States, she spent nearly 30 years serving South Carolina students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, most recently serving as a mathematics instructor at South Piedmont Community College.

At Winthrop, Mrs. Kendrick works with students at all academic levels, including those pursuing degrees in education and those enrolled in core mathematics courses. She is deeply committed to bridging the gap between mathematical theory and student engagement, with a primary goal of inspiring future educators to share her enthusiasm for the subject. By fostering a positive learning environment, she strives to help students develop both confidence and a genuine passion for mathematics.

A resident of Rock Hill since 1996, Mrs. Kendrick enjoys life in the community with her husband and their three adult children.
