Amanda “AJ” Campbell has taught English courses at Winthrop since 2014 and recently earned her Ph.D. in Literature and Criticism, with a concentration in Transatlantic Literature and Gender and Sexuality Studies. She has taught a wide range of courses, including critical thinking, world literature, fiction writing, literary theory, and various British Literature courses, and is particularly interested in teaching students how to set goals and build healthy habits in college. Recently, Dr. Campbell presented a paper titled “Facing AI: Knowledge Transference and a Metacognitive Approach to Pedagogy” at the College English Annual Conference. Her doctoral research is focused on twentieth-century diasporic, transatlantic coming-of-age novels, and she has presented articles on writers like Tsitsi Dangarembga, Jamaica Kincaid, and Toni Morrison at ASALH and the Society for Menstrual Cycle Research.
