Winthrop University offers college course credit for Advanced Placement (AP), International
Baccalaureate (IB), and Cambridge International coursework. Below please find the
examination guides for each program. For further questions and information, please
contact your school counselor or the Winthrop Office of Admissions at 803-323-2191.
To assist you in achieving your academic goals, Winthrop awards Advanced Placement (AP) credit for scores of 3 or above on Advanced Placement Tests (taken in conjunction with designated high school AP classes). See your guidance counselor for complete information on AP courses and examinations.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Credit
Winthrop awards advanced college course credit for scores of 4 or above on higher level International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. A minimum score of 5 is required to receive credit for Math with Further Math's and Computing Studies.
