Preparing Images for the Web
Before uploading images to the CMS, web authors should ensure that they are the correct shape, size and file
type. Use the Adobe Photoshop tutorials linked below to learn how to edit your photos.
- Shape: Consider whether the photo needs to be cropped portrait, landscape or square to
look best for your page.
- Size: Images should never be uploaded at full resolution. An image intended to take up the
full width of the page should be 960px wide, and most photos will need to be even
smaller than that.
- File Type: The CMS will allow you to upload .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .gif files.
Note: Make sure you have the rights to use a photo before uploading it to the CMS. Do
not use images you found through an Internet search.
