Dr. Barger began working in the Elementary Education Program at Winthrop in Fall 2014. She teaches courses in children's literature, mathematics education in elementary schools, field experience, and senior seminars, among other courses. Dr. Barger is currently serving as the co-chair on the Charlotte Huck Award for Outstanding Fiction for children, a national award sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English. She is also serving on the Outstanding International Books Committee. Sponsored by the International Board on Books for Young People. When not teaching, Dr. Barger loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
