Great News from CAEP!

The Richard W. Riley College of Education announces the success of its recent accreditation review by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The review found that Winthrop’s educator preparation program met all initial and advanced standards with no areas for improvement cited. We offer heartfelt thanks to our valued school partners—including those in the Winthrop University-School Partnership Network—for their continuous engagement in our shared business of preparing educators for P-12 teaching and learning!

We also want to acknowledge Dr. Beth Costner who provided leadership as our CAEP Coordinator and our CAEP Steering Committee—a group of dedicated faculty and college administrators who worked tirelessly and demonstrated a model of collaboration. The members of that committee include: Dr. Wanda Ebright, Ms. Joanna Harris, Dr. Lisa Johnson, Dr. Marshall Jones, Dr. Megan Schramm-Possinger, Dr. Robert Prickett, and Dr. Lindsay Yearta. We are so proud of this accomplishment and appreciate all those who contributed to our success!
