Praxis Test Retakes

Students can retake Praxis Tests of all types to improve performance.

There are specific limits on the length of time between sitting for the same (or sub-tests of the same) test.  These are updated on the ETS website under the Test Retake Policy.

Students are cautioned that they acknowledge this policy when registering.  This includes an acknowledgement that the score will be canceled and no refund will be allowed. The student is responsible for ensuring they follow these guidelines.

For clarification, the student does not have to wait to start the registration process, but must ensure that the new test date is a sufficient length of time from the original date.

 

The faculty and staff encourage all test takers to use the wait period to review and study BEFORE retaking the exam.  Planning well in advance of deadlines can provide the flexibility needed.

• We recommend that the Testing Requirement-Basic Skills be met before the start of the third semester at Winthrop (and possibly earlier for transfer students).
• We recommend that the Subject-Specific Certification Exam be completed at least 6 months before the start of Internship II or application to the MAT-Accelerated Program.
