I began my career in education at roughly 4-years-old when I began lining up my stuffed animals in preparation for the day's lesson. After grade school, I attended Hilbert College in Buffalo, NY and studied English before continuing at Canisius College to obtain a Master of Science in Education with specializations in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Middle Level Language Arts. In 2008, my husband David and I decided we had enough of the blistering cold weather and snowstorms that frequented Buffalo and migrated down to South Carolina.

My professional career in education began in 2008 in the Clover School District where I taught 1st, 2nd, 5th grade and Reading Recovery. Teaching higher education has always been a dream, and in 2016 I pursued that goal and began teaching at Winthrop University, serving as an Adjunct Instructor and University Supervisor in the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences and eventually an Instructor of Early Childhood Education. Now, I am ecstatic to transition to the role of Director of the Macfeat Early Childhood Laboratory School.

When I am not diligently working, I enjoy spending time with my family including my husband David and three children David, Logan, and Ava Grace. I also enjoy exercising, being outdoors, exploring new parks, listening to music, and going to the beach.
