Winthrop's annual Part-Time Job Fair brings together students, campus departments, and local employers for a morning of casual table-style networking in our student center. This event is an excellent opportunity to hire an Eagle for your part-time/seasonal roles!

Registration

Students: Register in Handshake

Employers: Email szemanm@winthrop.edu for a separate registration link

  • Early Bird Registration: $55 (July 1 - July 31)
  • Standard Rate: $75 (begins August 1)
  • Non-Profit Rate: $25 (regardless of registration date)

    Registration

    Student registation is in Handshake. Registration is not required but is helpful for event planning.


    Time & Location

    The event is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the DiGiorgio Campus Center Lobby.


    Networking Tips

      • Review the Employer List (available in August) to see who's hiring.

      • This is a casual-dress event, so wear something comfortable (jeans, etc.) but still neat and presentable to make a good first impression.

      • Bring 5-10 copies of your resume.

      • Practice your professional pitch (30-45 second introduction for employers).

      • Be confident (you've got this!).

    • Review the list of attending employers (full list available on this page by August 22).
    • Bring several copies of your resume. Need help with your resume? Visit the CDI or schedule an appointment in Handshake for assistance.
    • Prepare a 30-second introduction. When introducing yourself to employers, start by mentioning your name, major, and school year.
    • Dress comfortably. This is a casual-dress event, so wear something that's comfortable (jeans, etc.).

    Registration

    Employers who are interested in attending should email szemanm@winthrop.edu for a separate registration link to our Marketplace website. Employer registration is available through Friday, August 23 or until capacity has been reached.

      Parking

      Employer parking is available between the West Center and McBryde Hall (see 14 and 15 on Campus Map). Overflow parking is available in McLaurin Parking Lot (see H). Visitor parking passes are not required for these designated areas.


      Check-In

      Employer check-in begins at 10 a.m. in the DiGiorgio Campus Center Lobby (see #16 on Campus Map). Event staff will direct employers to their tables upon arrival. Suggested items to bring:

      • Logoed tablecloth, posters and signage for table (6-foot table and standard garnet tablecloth will be provided)
      • Brochures/flyers/business cards 
      • QR code to job postings/instructions on how to apply (employers are encouraged to post their positions in Handshake prior to the event)
      • Promotional items/swag
