Distance Career Coaching

Distance career coaching offers the convenience of being able to work with a career coach regardless of your location. Staff communicate using technology devices such as telephone, e-mail, and skype. A Career Coach can assist you with career exploration, career decision making, job search skills and strategies.  

How to Schedule a Distance Career Coaching Appointment

  • Go to Handshake to make an appointment

  • On the mediums drop-down option, select one of our virtual services

  • Appointments can also be made by calling our office during business hours (8:30am-5pm) at 803/323-2141

 

Resume and Cover Letter Critiques

CDI staff can assist you in making sure you have well developed, polished career documents; resumes, cover letters and professional statements. Career documents that are submitted online through Handshake are automatically critiqued. For assistance in developing your career documents, please make a distance career coaching appointment. Career Assessments

Assessments can help you choose academic majors, improve your effectiveness and satisfaction in the work place or classroom, enhance your interactions and relationships with others, and find satisfying jobs. We offer two assessments: Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

To start your job search, utilize Winthrop's online jobsite, Handshake. As a Winthrop student, you automatically have an account.
