Events and Deadlines

  • Dacus Library and the College of Arts and Sciences are hosting a series of virtual presentations that showcase Winthrop faculty and student research projects. The series, titled Research Explorations, kicks off with its first event Tuesday, March 30, at 3:00 pm, via Zoom, click here to register! For future events, check out this link.

Past Events

  • Tuesday, October 6, 2020, is the deadline to apply for undergraduate research travel funds for travel during the Fall 2020 semester. Please visit the Student Travel Funding page for more information.
  • Friday, October 16, 2020, at 5 p.m. is the application deadline for students interested in becoming McNair Scholars. Please visit the McNair application page for more information.

  • Abstract submission for our annual printed compilation, Undergraduate Scholarship and Creative Activity, and SOURCE 2020 opens on Sunday, November 1, 2020. There is one common submission site for both opportunities, which will be accessible from the Abstract Books page. All student projects that have been pursued and/or presented between Summer 2020 and Spring 2021 are eligible for inclusion: please ensure that your work is recognized!

  • Tuesday, December 1, 2020: the abstract-submission deadline for the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
  • Friday, January 22, 2021: the deadline to submit your abstract for Posters on the Hill, an event in which undergraduates from across the nation share their research with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
  • UR Exchange will take place on Twitter on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from noon to 5 PM ET.
  • Tuesday, February 9, 2021, is the deadline to apply for undergraduate research travel funds for travel during the Spring 2021 semester. Please visit the Student Travel Funding page for more information.

  • March 1, 2021, is the deadline to submit abstracts for inclusion in Undergraduate Scholarship and Creative Activity 2021 and presentation or performance at SOURCE 2021.
