The Online Master of Science in Sport and Fitness Administration (SPFA) program is designed to fill a unique niche. Students will acquire knowledge and abilities related to the effective administration and ethical leadership of private and public sport and fitness facilities and programs including the management of programs, personnel, and facilities.

Applied Learning
All SPFA students will complete a practicum experience or capstone project applying their learning outcomes to sport and fitness issues and organizations.
The SPFA program prepares students to assume leadership positions in various sport and fitness venues in both facility and personnel management and program development. Graduates are prepared to direct sport and fitness programs in the private and public sectors.
The program consists of core courses that provide students with a background in administration, research design and current issues and trends in sport and fitness. All students are required to complete a practicum experience in sport or fitness administration or a capstone project. Two electives can be selected to meet the needs of graduate candidate’s interest in sport or fitness administration. A maximum of nine (9) semester hours of graduate work may be transferred from another accredited institution.

Notice to International F-1 Graduate Applicant:
Per U.S. Immigration Regulation, international students who study in the U.S. in F-1 status may enroll in one, 3-hour
online course per semester to fulfill the full-time enrollment requirement. This program
requires more than one online class per semester to meet full-time enrollment and
would not be approved for F-1 status. More information about visa status is available
from our International Center.
