The Winthrop University M.S. in Accounting and Analytics (MSAA) is a STEM-designated program that offers an innovative curriculum adapted to the needs of the current marketplace. The program also prepares students to obtain their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

    The M.S. in Accounting and Analytics program provides students with an excellent graduate business education that includes a variety of general business topics in addition to the advanced accounting subjects. The program provides the additional course work that students need to sit for the CPA exam and become licensed as a CPA*.

    As you complete the core courses in the M.S. in Accounting and Analytics program, you'll gain the following credentials that can enhance your résumé: 

    • Advanced Accounting Certificate

    • Accounting Analytics Micro-Certificate

    • Business Analytics Micro-Certificate


    Time to completion: 1 - 2 years
    Total Credits: 30
    Format: Campus-based
    Curriculum (M.S. in Accounting and Analytics)

      Accounting Application Deadline: No deadline, rolling admission

      International Applications: July 15 for fall admission, December 1 for spring admission, May 15 for summer

      Application requirements for the Master of Business Administration program include:

      • The online Graduate Studies application and non-refundable application fee
      • Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended for undergraduate and graduate coursework.
        • Note: Transcripts must be sent directly to Winthrop's Graduate Studies office from the issuing institution(s)
      • Official scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).

      To be considered for a GMAT/GRE waiver, please submit a GMAT/GRE waiver request form.

    GMAT/GRE waiver requests will be considered for MBA applicants who meet one of the following waiver criteria and must be requested when completing the application online:

        • An undergraduate degree with overall 2.75 GPA from a regionally accredited institution with at least four quantitative courses that average a 3.0 GPA.
        • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
        • An earned professional credential such as a CPA, CFP, PE license, CMA, CFE, CIA, etc. OR a graduate degree from an accredited program.
    • An undergraduate degree with overall 2.75 GPA from a regionally accredited institution with at least four quantitative courses that average a 3.0 GPA.
    • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
    • An earned professional credential such as a CPA, CFP, PE license, CMA, CFE, CIA, etc. OR a graduate degree from an accredited program.

     

    Please note:

    • Admitted students may be required to take additional preparatory coursework or learning modules depending on their academic and/or professional background.
    • GMAT/GRE waivers are not guaranteed to those who meet one of the above criteria. The applicant's entire application packet will be considered when a GMAT/GRE waiver decision is made.
