Master of Music - Performance Concentration

 

Application Requirements for all graduate Music Degrees:

1. The online Graduate School application with the non-refundable application fee.

2. Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended for undergraduate and graduate coursework. Transcript must be sent directly to Winthrop's Graduate School office from the issuing institution(s). We cannot accept transcripts (even sealed, official transcripts) from individuals.

3. Have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

4. Perform an entrance audition on an instrument or voice. Because of COVID-19, auditions will be accepted by video submission. Vocal auditions should be accompanied (live or pre-recorded) and instrumentalists may choose to perform unaccompanied. The audition should consist of at least two contrasting selections. One selection should demonstrate technique and articulation and another should demonstrate expressive phrasing and lyricism. Vocalists should perform repertoire in foreign languages as well as in English.

Applicants are expected to possess a baccalaureate degree with a major in music performance (or equivalent) from an accredited institution. The diagnostic placement examinations should be taken prior to the semester of initial enrollment in the graduate program.
