Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) Application Requirements

Applicants for admission to the Specialist in Educational Leadership program must hold a Master's degree with a minimum 3.25 GPA and submit the following items to be considered for admission:

1. The online Graduate School application with the non-refundable application fee;

2. Copy of current South Carolina Department of Education Professional Certificate or the equivalent from another state. You will be required to upload this in the online application system.

3. Three references that can address your specific qualifications and dispositions (using the Winthrop Graduate School recommendation form). In the online application you will be required to provide names and contact information for your three references. Those individuals will then receive an email with the required form for completion.

4. Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework. Transcripts from degree-granting institutions must be sent directly to our office from the issuing institutions.  Transcripts can be sent to 211 Tillman Hall, Rock Hill, SC 29733 or gradschool@winthrop.edu;

5. Current resume or CV.

In addition to the above requirements, the selection process will also include assessments, activities, and interviews.
