Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) Application Requirements

Applicants for admission to the Specialist in Educational Leadership program must meet the following requirements to be eligible for consideration:

  • Three years of teaching experience and two years of school or comparable leadership experience;  
  • Satisfy one of the following:
    • Option 1:  Possess an M.Ed. or equivalent in Educational Leadership with an overall GPA of 3.25 and possess licensure as a school principal (Option 1 is for candidates who possess licensure as a school principal and are seeking Superintendent certification). 
    • Option 2:  Possess an M.Ed. with an overall GPA of 3.25 (Option 2 is for educators desiring an educational leadership degree without seeking Superintendent certification).

Application Requirements

1) Submit the Application for Graduate Admission;

2) Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate course work. Official transcripts from degree-granting institutions must be sent directly to our office from the issuing institutions. Non-degree coursework can be submitted on unofficial transcripts;

3) Three recommendations that address the applicant’s specific qualifications and dispositions. Applicants will be required to provide the names and email addresses of recommenders in the online admissions application. These individuals will then receive an email asking them to complete the online recommendation form.   

 

Note: In addition to the above requirements, the selection process may also include assessments, activities, and interviews to further determine eligibility for admission.
