Scholarships and Awards Information

The scholarships listed here are for currently enrolled students only. Please check scholarship criteria carefully before submitting your application. You can only apply for scholarships in your major--not your add-on areas.

General Information

The Winthrop University Richard W. Riley College of Education offers a variety of awards and scholarships. On the basis of specific selection criteria, applications are evaluated each spring by members of the Richard W. Riley College of Education Scholarship Committee or by specific departments. All scholarships are issued at registration for the following semester. The Richard W. Riley College of Education scholarships are awarded without regard to race, sex, religion, age, or national origin.


The College of Education’s scholarship application for the 2020-2021 school year has been emailed to currently enrolled College of Education students via their Winthrop email. The rubric the committee will be using to score applications can be found here.


The deadline to apply for the 2020-2021 College of Education scholarships has been extended to April 5, 2020. Awardees will be contacted via Winthrop email by early June 2020.
