Dr. Carsten is a Professor in the Management and Marketing Department at Winthrop University. She received her doctorate in Organizational Psychology from Claremont Graduate University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Nebraska prior to joining the faculty at Winthrop. Dr. Carsten has taught courses in Organizational Behavior, Human Resources Management, and Statistics.  Her research interests focus on leadership and followership in organizations and the role that implicit followership theories play in leader-follower interactions.

Dr. Carsten has written several book chapters and published in referred journals such as Journal of Organizational Behavior and Organizational Dynamics.
