Undergraduate - The social studies education program prepares students to teach high school social studies courses through an interdisciplinary core that includes history, geography, economics, political science, psychology, and sociology courses. Many of the required courses fulfill general education courses reducing the overall number of courses required for graduation. In addition to the social studies core, students select one social studies content field and take 18 hours are the upper level, providing them with in depth knowledge and skills. The program culminates in a two-semester internship (2 days per week in Fall and 5 days per week in Spring).
