Teaching Profession - Graduate Pathways

Accelerated MAT - Students who major in History, Individualized Studies, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology from Winthrop and have a minor in Educational Studies may pursue the one-year MAT. The Educational Studies minor offers 15 hours in education courses and field experiences working in a K-12 environment. Students who arrive at Winthrop with 30 credit hours, may complete their undergraduate degree and the MAT in four years. The program culminates in a two-semester internship. Traditional MAT - Students with a degree in GEOG, HIST, PLSC, PSYC, or SOCL may pursue the Traditional MAT.
