Dr. Licata is an assistant professor in the Department of Human Nutrition at Winthrop. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Samford University. She then completed her masters in nutrition and dietetic internship in a coordinated program at Georgia State University. She earned a PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham in Nutrition Sciences and investigated the effects of nutrition timing and protein intake on body composition in athletes. She is a registered dietitian and is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. She is also a board certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD). She currently teaches Sports Nutrition, Nutrition Counseling and Practice, and Research Methods.
