Melissa Gilbert is originally from Southeastern Kentucky and moved to South Carolina in 1998. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Winthrop University in 2002. In 2012, she completed the M.A. program in Education at the University of Phoenix, and in 2014, she completed the M.A. program in English at Winthrop University. She worked in the Writing Center as a graduate assistant from 2013-2014. She also teacher at York Technical College.
Her research interests include composition, online learning, fiction editing, and publishing.
