Winthrop's name and logomarks are official representations of our university.  Therefore, their use requires Winthrop's permission.

Businesses that would like to become licensed to produce Winthrop-branded items should contact our licensing agency, Affinity LicensingNote:  there are fees associated with becoming licensed.  Winthrop reviews all orders from licensed vendors for correct logo usage and adherance to our brand guidelines.

Anyone using Winthrop's word marks, logomarks, and symbols should adhere strictly to the rules and guidelines in our Visual Identity Manual (pdf - 3,073 kb).

Included in the visual identity system are information and policies regarding:

  • Official logos including the Winthrop University horizontal logo, stacked logo, words-only logo, and the eagle and shield logomark
  • Placement and appropriate usage of official logos
  • Color palettes
  • Typefaces
  • Stationary items
  • Guidelines for producing a publication
