Why did you choose to apply to the Close Scholars program?

I chose to apply to Close Scholars because of the close connection I have to community service and nature. Before joining, I did my research on the program and on the late Ms. Anne Close Springs, and something I noted was her love for the outside world. As a Close Scholar, I want to best represent her and her mission for community and the environment.

Why is being a servant leader important to you, and why should it be important to others?

Being a servant leader is important to me because it allows me to grow my leadership skills. I am constantly communicating with my peers, and in doing so, calls for collaboration and growth. I believe that it should be important to others because it showcases a drive for openness and innovation with others.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I will be 24 years old! I would like to be in year 2 in my Speech-Language Pathology program, while simultaneously being an elementary school teacher here in South Carolina.

Where is your favorite place to travel and why?

My favorite place that I have been to so far is Cozumel, Mexico. I went on a cruise and there was so much vibrancy and cool architecture. I enjoyed the unique artisan markets, and talking to the artists about their work.

A fun fact about yourself?

I love to crochet, and I have been doing so for a few years now. I make different items such as plushies and scarves. Come ask me about it!
