Why did you choose to apply to the Close Scholars Program?

I chose to apply to the Close Scholars program after researching The Legacy of Mrs. Anne Springs Close. Mrs.Close knew the importance of service and keeping students involved with nature and the community that surrounds them. I love to serve others and believe it is important to explore the place we call home!

What do you look forward to as part of the Close Scholars Program?

The things I look forward to the most about the Close Scholars program are the several traveling and cultural immersion projects! Being awarded to study abroad, and see the world through the lens of others is super exciting for students like me!

Why is being a servant leader importanto you, and why should it be important to others?

Being a servant leader is important to me because it’s about helping others succeed and putting their needs first. It creates trust, fosters growth, and builds strong communities. This approach should be important to others because it focuses on empathy and collaboration, not power or personal gain, leading to a more positive and supportive environment for everyone!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I will be 25 years young! With a full life still ahead of me to learn and grow I see myself entering my last years of Law school. My whole life, I have been an advocate for others whether it was me being the Oldest sibling, a Future Educator, or taking leadership roles through my school years. I will continue to serve for as long as God allows me to do so!

What is your favorite thing to do on cmpus or in the surrounding  area?

My favorite thing to do on campus is exploring Campus Green, sitting on the hammocks, and seeing what fun events Winthrop has planned for the week! Campus Green is a place where students can show off their clubs, and organizations, or have business partners come out and promote. There are always opportunities to meet new friends and see some familiar faces!

Where is your favorite place to travel and why?

My favorite place to travel is the Caribbean Islands! I was born in June which means I am a summer baby all the way! I love the heat and enjoy fun activities like water sports, swimming, and enjoying new meals!

A fun fact about me.

A fun fact about me is I am super involved on campus and I love doing things that keep me busy! My very first semester here at Winthrop I was involved in over 6 organizations, holding official positions in 2 of them!
